UPDATimes - JAPAN - Universal Studios Japan is known to have been closed for three months due to the corona pandemic. The venue will reopen starting June 8 for annual ticket holders living in Osaka prefecture, park operators said on Monday.

Reported by Kyodo Monday (1/6), USJ LLC operators said they would slowly relax restrictions and allow all residents in Osaka prefecture to visit on June 15.

After that, residents who live in Kinki areas such as Kyoto, Hyogo, Nara, Wakayama and Shiga prefectures can enjoy the game there starting on June 19th.

Reported by Reuters on Monday (1/6), USJ on the official website said visitors are required to wear masks all the time. Any visitor's body temperature before entering the area will be checked, and everyone must follow the distance restriction rules at the attraction.

Meanwhile, Oriental Land Co., which operates Disneyland and DisneySea Tokyo, will extend the closure for fear that visitors from across Japan will cause further spread of the virus.

They will announce when the playground will reopen after preparations are completed. Tokyo Disney Resort and USJ have been closed since February 29 as part of Japan's move to curb the spread of the corona virus.

Although Japan has now revoked the corona virus emergency status last week, the local government is still asking people not to cross the prefectural border until June 19.
