UPDATimes - The aftermath of the racism action against George Floyd that occurred last May, made some parties condemned all forms of racism. That was also done by Taylor Swift. In fact he also criticized the historical figure who made his statue in his hometown of Tennesse, United States.
According to the singer of 'Blank Space', past figures who also committed racial acts in the past do not deserve such respect. For example the statue of Edward Carmack and Nathan Bedford Forrest.
As quoted from his Twitter account upload, Taylor Swift said criticism of the two figures. He felt that the two statues should be demolished and did not deserve to be respected.
"As a person of Tennesse, it's very disgusted because they feel there are monuments (statues) that stand in our area to celebrate racist historical figures who have committed many crimes," Taylor Swift wrote on Saturday (06/13/2020).
he also asked the Capitol Commission and the Tennessee Historical Commission to rethink the implications of the two statues.
Previously, the statue of Edward Carmack had been demolished by the #BlaclivesMater demonstrators during a demonstration some time ago. But the authorities re-established it in its original place.
That's what makes Taylor Swift a little upset. He also gave information to his followers regarding the figure of Edward Carmack.
"FYI, Carmack is an editor of a racist white newspaper that publishes articles supporting the death penalty and incites the burning of Ida B. Wells's office (which was supposed to be made a statue because of its struggle against journalism and human rights). Re-establishing the statue (Carmack) is just a waste of the budget and the opportunity to do something right, "Swift said.

While Nathan Bedford Forrest was a historical figure during the Civil War who had killed many black people from the Union. He is also known as the main leader of the racist organization Klux Klux Klan who was involved with the issue of slavery in his time.
