UPDATimes - Indonesia along with dozens of other countries in the world supported the call for an independent inquiry into the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic. These international and independent investigations do not intend to blame the two countries, but formulate a formula to deal with a similar pandemic in the future.

This appeal originally came from Australia, but the draft resolution was made by the European Union.

Deputy Chief of Australian Health Staff Paul Kelly said the motion submitted to the World Health Assembly tonight would not be weakened because it did not specifically mention China.
"I think the most important thing - instead of blaming one country or another country - is that we get to the bottom of what happened," he said, as quoted by Australian media, the Daily Telegraph.

"But there have been many things that have happened with this pandemic from the start and I think, seeing the whole way it is spreading so quickly around the world and what is happening in various countries in ways in which various countries have approached that the problem will be part of the investigation. And I hope this resolution will succeed. "
The draft resolution of the European Union now has hundreds of sponsoring countries, after all the African Group and its member countries joined the initial list of 63 countries.

Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne also said he hoped the motion would pass, marking a major strategic victory for Australia.

"We are very encouraged by the growing level of support for the comprehensive World Health Assembly movement," he said.

On the other hand, Chinese President Xi Jinping will deliver a speech Monday (05/18/2020) in the opening ceremony of the 73rd session of the World Health Assembly (WHA) via video link. The leader of the communist regime will address the invitation of the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian was quoted as saying by the New York Times, confirming Xi Jinping's planned speech. Zhao said it was too early to begin an investigation into the origins and spread of the new corona virus that causes Covid-19, which has killed more than 300,000 people worldwide.
